Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. (Proverbs 16:3)
To trust God with whatever we do and all every area of our lives is a HUGE thing! But to withhold areas from him is even bigger. To commit means that we put our whole weight onto something. Like all or nothing. Proverbs 16:3 is calling us out to unconditionally obey and trust God in every area of our lives – the good and the bad things. If we do this, we will be becoming a person who makes wise, realistic plans.
Action
Write down the areas of your life:
- work
- leisure
- family
- marriage or romantic relationships
- friendships
- inner thoughtlife
- health
- treatment of body
- relationship to church and other Christians
- emotional life
- possesions
- money
- intellectual life
- personal identity
Now go through every area of your life and write down what trusting (obeying) God would require. Ask God to implement the list.
Reminder
God is sovereign!
